The art of learning Concentration has many benefits for children. Children as young as 2 and half years can be taught how to practice concentration and awareness.

To get more details on Lotus-Heart Center Concentration, read on!

  • To start off  by make sure you and your child are wearing comfortable clothing.
  • Sit down on the floor.
  • Kids are quite flexible, so let them sit down either cross-legged or with their heels under the buttocks.
  • Palms should be kept on the knees with the fingers in chit-mudra – index finger bent towards the thumb and the rest of the fingers pointing away from the body.
  • Before practicing the concentration exercise, let your child watch this video so that he is aware of what a lotus is and can visualise the lotus.

  • Point out to your child where the heart center is – at the middle of the chest. Explain to your child that when you want him to imagine the lotus flower, this is where it should be at.

Mumsible Tips:

  • You will have an understanding of your childs vocabulary and capacity, change the structure of the instructions accordingly.
  • You can also decide how long your kid can keep his eyes closed, when you feel it’s time, take him out of it. 50 seconds is the recommended time for under 5 year olds and up to ten-year olds can do a minute to 2 minutes depending on how much of practice they have at concentration.
  • Keep the visualizing to what is mentioned in the post. Do not add or vary.
